TV Size Calculator
Enter how far you'll sit from the screen. We'll recommend an ideal size for an immersive picture — and tell you where 4K resolution stops being visible.
Guidance based on common AV design ranges (≈1.2–1.6× diagonal for 4K). Room layout, content, and personal preference all matter — which is exactly the kind of judgment we bring to a real design.
How far should I sit from a TV?
For a cinematic but comfortable experience, a common guideline is a viewing distance of roughly 1.2 to 1.6 times the screen's diagonal for 4K content. Closer fills more of your field of view; farther is more relaxed. This calculator works it out both ways.
Can a TV be too big?
Yes — if you sit close to a very large screen you may see pixel structure on lower-resolution content and have to move your eyes to track the picture. With 4K content, screens can be larger relative to distance than they could with 1080p.
