Video Walls & Digital Signage
A video wall is a construction project. Design it like one.
Whether it is the feature wall in a sports bar, a lobby display, or the wall in an operations room, direct-view LED and large-format display projects involve structure, power, cooling, processing, content workflow, and service access, all before the first pixel lights. We design the whole assembly, write a performance spec, and run a bid where the price spread does the talking.
The price of a video wall depends on who designs it
Pixel pitch, brightness, redundancy, and processing choices swing project cost enormously, and a vendor-designed wall tends to be specified at the top of the range. We match the design to viewing distance and content, then let competition price the identical scope.
Right-sized, not max-sized
Pixel pitch and brightness chosen from viewing distance and ambient light, so you pay for performance viewers can actually perceive.
Coordinated with the building
Structural loading, power, thermal, and service access engineered with your architect and contractor before steel closes.
Content is part of the design
Processing, sources, and content management planned around who feeds the wall and how often, so it never becomes an expensive static poster.
Lifecycle honesty
Spare modules, service contracts, and refresh planning addressed in the spec, where they can be bid, instead of discovered later.
Scope
What a display project includes
- Direct-view LED and LCD wall design and selection criteria
- Pixel pitch, brightness, and redundancy specification
- Processing, sources, and signal design
- Structural, power, and cooling coordination
- Content management system planning
- Digital signage and menu board networks
From a bar's feature wall to an operations room, you get a wall designed to be seen, serviced, and paid for sensibly.
Common questions
What pixel pitch does my video wall need?
It depends on how close viewers stand. A useful rule of thumb is that the minimum comfortable viewing distance in meters is roughly equal to the pixel pitch in millimeters, so a 2.5 mm wall works from about 2.5 meters and a 1.5 mm wall from about 1.5 meters. LED or LCD for a video wall?
Direct-view LED gives a seamless image, high brightness, and flexible shapes at a higher cost per square foot. Tiled LCD costs less and shows bezel lines. The right answer comes from viewing distance, ambient light, content, and budget, which is exactly what the design phase resolves.
Why does a video wall need an engineer, not just a vendor?
Because it is a construction assembly. Structural loading, power, heat, service access, processing, and content workflow all have to be coordinated with the building before anything is ordered, and the design choices swing the price enormously.
